A free family fundraising afternoon will be held at Stone Cricket Club on Friday 21 August 2026, from 4pm onwards, in support of Breast Cancer Now and a local woman, Jem, who has recently been diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer.
Jem's family are organising the event after she began an intensive treatment programme. The afternoon will feature a cake sale, raffle, tombola, children's tombola, sandwiches and refreshments. The club bar will be open for drinks.
Rose Moody, Jem's sister, said: "Unfortunately, our youngest sister Jem recently received the heartbreaking diagnosis of an aggressive Breast Cancer. She has been incredibly brave and strong undergoing an extremely intensive treatment programme. In honour of Jem, we are hosting a family friendly Breast Cancer Now Afternoon Tea this August. Stone Cricket Club have very kindly offered to host us."
Entry and prizes
Entry is free and the event is open to anyone who would like to attend, whether for a short visit or for the afternoon.
A wide range of prizes have already been donated for the raffle and tombola, including vouchers, family days out, food and drink prizes, children's items, gifts and local business donations.
Where the money goes
All money raised will go to Breast Cancer Now, the research and care charity supporting people affected by breast cancer.
The event takes place at Stone Cricket Club, Lichfield Road.
