Stone Town Council is hosting Warriors at Westbridge, a free family event featuring Viking warriors, battles and living history demonstrations on Saturday at Westbridge Park.

The event begins at 10.45am with a Viking procession from Stone Town Council's building car park on Station Road to Westbridge Park. Accompanied children are encouraged to join the parade as it travels through Stone.

What to expect at the event

Throughout the day, visitors will be able to watch battle displays and living history demonstrations, explore a Viking encampment and learn about the everyday lives of Viking families during the 10th and 11th centuries.

The event includes traditional crafts and opportunities to meet the warriors. Visitors can try on armour and helmets and handle Viking weapons under supervision.

Children can take part in Kiddie Vike mock battles. Free special effects battle scar make-up will be available from noon until 4pm on a first come, first served basis.

Facilities and facilities

Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic. A selection of food and drink vendors will also be at Westbridge Park.

The event is free to attend.
