Staffordshire Police seized a car in Stone after officers found the vehicle had no valid insurance and two unroadworthy tyres during proactive patrols on Thursday 8 October.
Roads Policing officers stopped the vehicle while carrying out routine checks in the town. The driver was reported for summons in connection with the missing insurance.
Vehicle defects found
The car was also found to have two tyres that did not meet roadworthiness standards. The legal minimum tyre tread depth for cars is 1.6mm across the central three quarters of the tyre and around its entire circumference.
Vehicle requirements
Staffordshire Police reminded motorists that vehicles used on public roads must be taxed, insured, have a valid MOT where required, and be maintained in a roadworthy condition.
Officers also urged drivers to carry out regular vehicle checks, particularly as poor weather can increase the risks posed by vehicle defects.
