A new Co-op store on Lichfield Road in Stone is scheduled to open at the end of October 2026, the retailer has confirmed. The opening date represents a delay from the earlier summer target.
Signs on the construction fencing at the site now display "opening soon" banners, and recruitment is under way for the store.
Services and facilities
The new Stone store will include quality food to go, an in-store bakery, customer toilets with baby changing facilities, and a bike repair station.
Community event planned
Co-op plans to hold a "Get to Know Your Co-op" session before the store opens. The session is expected to take place in mid-October and will give local residents the chance to meet the team, find out more about the shop, and learn about OurCoop membership benefits.
A date and venue for the session have not yet been confirmed.
