Families visited The Early Years Academy Stone on Saturday 17 October to explore its refurbished nursery and take part in a community open day.

The Meaford nursery welcomed existing and prospective families for animal encounters, menu tasting and activities in its Forest School environment.

Visitors met animals brought by Oakley’s Farm and looked around the transformed learning spaces. Existing families were also able to explore the rooms their children will move into next and discuss the transition with staff.

Indoor and outdoor activities

The nursery said families sampled dishes from its menu and spoke to the team about everyday milestones, including potty training.

Outside, visitors explored the Forest School area and gathered beside the fire pit. The event followed refurbishment of the nursery’s indoor and outdoor spaces, which we previewed earlier this month.

A spokesperson said it was “lovely to welcome new families, spend time with our existing families and see children exploring and enjoying the environments”.

The nursery said the changes include areas for imaginative play and investigation, alongside quieter spaces. It thanked the families who attended and the staff who helped organise the day.
