Police officers will hold a free bike security marking event in Stone on Wednesday 5 August in response to recent bike thefts around the town.
The event takes place outside Stone Leisure Centre on Stafford Road between 1pm and 3pm. Residents can bring a new or existing bicycle to have it security marked and registered at no cost.
How security marking helps
Security marking acts as a deterrent to theft and makes a bicycle easier to identify if it is stolen and later recovered.
What to know before attending
No booking is required. Cyclists can attend at any time during the two-hour event.
Children aged under 18 must either be accompanied by an adult or have permission from a parent or guardian before their bike can be registered and marked.
Event location and further information
The event will take place at Stone Leisure Centre, Westbridge Park, Stafford Road, Stone, ST15 8QW.
Further information about the national BikeRegister scheme is available from the BikeRegister website.
