The Midcounties Co-operative has postponed the opening of its new Lichfield Road store just days before the planned launch date.
The retailer had been promoting the store opening through paid Facebook advertisements, announcing a 7am opening on Thursday 29 October with a Golden Ticket giveaway and other activities planned for opening day.
Postponement Announced
The Co-operative confirmed the postponement directly to A Little Bit of Stone, stating: "Due to circumstances outside our control, we're unable to proceed with the planned opening at this time."
The retailer added that it is working to establish a revised opening date and will share further details as soon as possible.
No explanation has been provided for the postponement, and no revised opening date has yet been confirmed.
