Pirehill First School in Walton is recruiting two co-opted governors to join its governing board. The unpaid voluntary roles offer local people the chance to help shape the future of the school, support its leadership team and contribute to the education of its pupils.

What the role involves

Governors are expected to attend half termly board meetings. They may also attend school events and spend time in school as part of their linked governor responsibilities. The role is expected to take around six to eight hours a month during term time.

Who can apply

Previous governance experience is not required, as full training and support will be provided. Skills in accountancy, finance or human resources would be useful, although they are not essential.

How to apply

Anyone interested in the roles can contact Chair of Governors Louise Kennedy at [email protected]. The closing date for applications is Tuesday 1 September 2026.
