Police are investigating a purse theft at the Westbridge Park Marks and Spencer store in Stone. The incident occurred at around 11.15am on Sunday 23 August.

A woman was shopping in the store when a purse was taken from her handbag. Officers believe the same suspect may also have taken a purse from another woman in the store at around the same time, although no further incident has been reported.

Earlier Reports in Stone Town Centre

The latest appeal follows an earlier police alert in which officers received several reports of purses being taken from bags while people were shopping in Stone town centre. Staffordshire Police has not explained whether those earlier reports are connected to the theft now being investigated at Marks and Spencer.

No description of the suspect has been provided by police.

Anyone who was in Marks and Spencer, Stone, at around 11.15am on Sunday 23 August is being asked to check their belongings and contact police if they believe anything is missing.
