Stone Town Council is accepting applications for a limited number of market stalls on the High Street for the Christmas Lights Switch On event on Thursday 19 November 2026. The event runs from 5pm until 7pm.

Both businesses and registered charities can apply. Businesses can use stalls to sell products, while registered charities whose work benefits Stone and its residents can use them for fundraising and to promote their work.

Stall Details and Charges

Each pitch measures 2.25 metres by 3 metres and will be covered and illuminated.

Business traders will be charged £40, including VAT and table hire. There is no charge for eligible registered charities.

All stallholders must have current public liability insurance providing at least £5 million of cover.

Setup and Activities

Traders will be able to set up from 2.30pm on the day, with pitches required to be vacated by 8pm.

Charities are encouraged to provide an activity at their stall, such as a tombola, lucky dip or game. Anyone planning an activity involving a game of chance will need to check with Stafford Borough Council's Licensing Section whether a permit is required. Where one is needed, a copy must be supplied to Stone Town Council before a stall is allocated.

How to Apply

Applications close on Friday 23 October 2026. Applicants can apply through Stone Town Council's online application form.
