Police are appealing for information following an assault on a narrowboat in Stone on Saturday 12 September. The incident occurred at around 4.55pm on the stretch of canal between Stafford Street and Canalside Car Park.
A man was assaulted on his narrowboat by another man. The suspect was described by witnesses as white, aged around 35, of slim to medium build, with brown hair and wearing a grey tracksuit.
The suspect was reportedly seen approaching the canal via the path from Canalside Car Park and leaving in the same direction after the incident.
Appeal for witnesses
Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was on the canal towpath or in Canalside Car Park between 4.45pm and 5pm on Saturday 12 September.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw a man matching the description, or has CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage that could assist the investigation is asked to contact police.
